Digital Learning Advisory Committee - Learn more at the Fall Workshop

Background
In Summer 2021, the Digital Learning Advisory Committee (DLAC) was initiated between B.C.’s post-secondary system and the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST). The DLAC's purpose was to better understand and support the use of digital learning models in post-secondary education in British Columbia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to lead a collaborative process to enhance digital post-secondary experiences across the province.

DLAC consisted of three working groups that discussed the impact of COVID-19 and remote learning on the post-secondary system and collaboratively developed the draft of B.C.’s Post-Secondary Digital Learning Strategy (DLS).
In Summer 2022, consultations took place with many groups on the draft DLS. Feedback from these sessions will inform updates to the DLS.

Digital Literacy
The DLS includes a Digital Literacy Framework (currently in draft). In addition to the Summer 2022 DLS consultations, feedback on the framework was requested from librarians, teaching and learning specialists, academics, and members of AEST. Feedback on the Framework is currently being incorporated, and an updated version is anticipated later this year.

The Digital Literacy Framework is intended to enhance digital literacy across post-secondary populations, for example, by encouraging the integration of learning objectives related to digital literacy into courses and programs for learners.

AEST will be participating in the Digital Literacy workshop that ETUG will be hosting in November.
