Getting to Nelson by plane
- Air Canada from Vancouver to Castlegar is a 1 hr flight and 40 km drive to Nelson from the airport (Note: Friday afternoon flight is 4 pm)
- Shuttle service Queen City shuttle takes you downtown/airport from The Prestige Hotel and Hume Hotel ($24 each way)
- Other option for people to fly is Pacific Coastal flies from Trail then 50 min drive
- 12 hour trip e.g. leave 6:45 am leave Vancouver and arrive 7 pm in the evening
- A 21 day advance booking will give you cheapest rate; $152 return fare
ETUG Carpool – we will setup a way for workshop participants to connect for this purpose
Accommodation
We have 2 block bookings for the ETUG Spring workshop participants. Both hotels are located in downtown Nelson which is approximately 12 blocks from the Selkirk College 10th street campus. We are encouraging people to carpool and to post to our carpool group if they can share a ride/need a ride. We will have walking groups to/from campus. For those who prefer to grab a cab, the fare is about $7.
