The Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is seeking applicants for a one-year term Instructional Designer.
This faculty position consults, trains, and serves as a resource person to faculty in the design, development, evaluation and revision of courses using the college’s learning management system (Desire to Learn).
Reporting to the Director of Learning Services, the Instructional Designer is part of the eLearning team within the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Instructional Designers work closely with faculty to identify the needs of a given program or course and propose solutions that synthesize current learning theory, sound teaching practices and available technologies. Instructional Designers provide direction regarding course design and development, including decisions identifying learning objectives, content arrangement, sequencing of lessons, use of assessments and selection of learning activities; they conduct course needs assessments, write scripts and narratives and create storyboards.
