[Fall Workshop 2008] Program

“Learning on the Edge: exploring our boundaries”
November 6 and 6th, 2008
Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC

Come to the gorgeous campus of the Vancouver Island Univeristy (VIU) in Nanaimo, BC.
and join the discussions as ETUG looks at “Learning on the Edge: exploring our boundaries.”
During our Fall Workhop program, we’ll look at some of the boundaries we encounter as teachers, educational technologists and enthusiasts. Session topics included the internationalization of education and trends in open content; trying to make sense of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy and Patriot Act; and the Learn Together Collaboratory, a new initiative for BC post-secondary educators. There will also be an open mike session to share ideas, tips, and tools for extending our boundaries in teaching and learning.
The presentation of the 2008 BC Innovation Awards in Educational Technology will take place during the Fall Workshop. And this year we’ve added a half-day hands-on session for Thursday afternoon to give you the opportunity to experiment with software tools that are sure to help you manage your work and make your life easier.
Registration for this 1.5 day event is $25 + gst (5%) and includes refreshments and lunch on Friday. The Thursday lab session is open for a limited number of participants: registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  More Info on Fall 2008 Workshop
