ETUG 25 – CFP Presentation Formats

ETUG’s 25th Anniversary Conference theme is “Back to the Future: Looking Back, Moving Forward“. This year’s conference will be held on June 20 and 21st, 2019 at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, BC.

Presentation Formats

The Program Committee welcomes proposals for the following formats:

Participate + Share
Presentation sessions are 30 or 60 mins; consist of a presentation with handouts and time for interaction among the attendees and presenters. Presenters are encouraged to share proven strategies for successful educational technology integration from personal experience and research projects related to educational technology-based instruction.
Explore + Create
These 60 to 90 mins workshops provide hands-on, practical learning experiences to develop knowledge and skills in a specific area. Enrollments are limited
Poster Session
Poster sessions are held in an open area for attendees to explore a variety of topics where they can engage with you, one-on-one, or in small groups. This kind of learning environment encourages meaningful conversations regarding your ideas, implementation, tools, and projects that attendees can immediately incorporate in their classroom, campus, or district.
Gasta Lightning Talks
Modeled on the Gasta (“fast” in Irish!) format from the Irish Technology Association, this is a series of 5-minute lightning talks similar to a Pecha Kucha. These talks are meant to be light and entertaining. See
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NRKESSftoM for example.

Note: When submitting you will be required to select one of the proposal formats above, but it is possible that your submission may be accepted on the condition of adapting it to another format (e.g., an individual presentation proposal might be accepted if you are willing to adapt it to a poster or a Gasta Lightning Talk). If this is the case, you will be given the choice to accept this format change or to decline to be in the conference program when notified of its acceptance.
