ETUG’s 25th Anniversary Conference theme is “Back to the Future: Looking Back, Moving Forward“.
This year’s action-packed conference will offer participants two days of focused thinking and conversations with inspiring keynotes, concurrent sessions, a panel discussion, awards, social events, and much more. Join us for two amazing days of collaboration, innovation and learning, and discover new ways to spark change within the educational technology area.

The conference theme of “Back to the Future: Looking Back, Moving Forward” is further divided into the 4 topics listed below:
1 | Educational Technologies That Have Persisted
This stream explores 25 years of educational technologies or processes that might have seemed radical and innovative at the time, but have persisted and become mainstream. Subtopics in this stream can include:
- Online & Blended Learning, including MOOC’s
- Learning Management Systems
- Open Educational Resources
- Web 2.0 (eg. blogs, wiki’s, social networks)
- Mobile technologies
- Multimedia production and distribution (eg. podcasting, lecture capture)

This stream explores how technology has creatively disrupted education over the last 25 years and how the roles of instructors, learners and everyone in between has been profoundly impacted. Subtopics in this stream can include:
- Evolving role of educators in (re)designing their own learning environments, instructional strategies, learning activities and assessment methods
- Expanding role of the instructional designer and educational technology consultant
- Evolution of educational technology support and training
- Enhancing learning and sharing through student-generated content

3 | Moving Forward: Future Trends
This stream explores forward-thinking approaches to education and educational technology, and the incorporation of creativity and innovation as essential components of effective educational technology over the next 25 years. Subtopics in this stream can include
