[Spring 2019 Workshop] Flash – back

Contributed by Terri Bateman, SCETUG Chair
In the spirit of our 25th Anniversary “Back to the Future” theme, I’ve been thinking about my early days in edtech.
Remember when the phrase “95% of the world’s computers are Flash compatible” came up all the time? Doesn’t seem like that long ago, does it? After Adobe bought everything, I clung to my Macromedia 2004 disc until it would no longer run on Windows, and now, there’s not even a drive for it in the laptop I use. I discovered that you can still pick the disc up on eBay for around $25.

And while we’re Flashing back, thanks to Grant Potter of UNBC for this blast from the past. Five whole years ago he made this edtech timeline for ETUG’s 20th anniversary.

FULL disclosure: You’ll need to allow Flash to run in your browser. How times have changed.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 25th anniversary of ETUG at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops on June 20 & 21, 2019.
