[Festival of Learning 2018] Update #2
Contributed by Terri Bateman, FoL Co-chair
The FOL 18 organizing committee has been busy reviewing submissions and will be contacting presenters soon. There were over 120 submissions—more than enough to build a rich, diverse, and inspiring program. Scheduling is happening, and the schedule will be released in the first week of February. We are really excited about the keynote speakers and will be able to announce them shortly. We also have plans for plenaries, including a student panel.
There is an early bird rate (only 50 of those) that starts Feb 1 and ends Feb.14. There is also a discounted rate for students, presenters, and volunteers. You can see more details here: https://bccampus.ca/festival-of-learning-2018/ The call for volunteers has (technically) closed, but there are still volunteer opportunities available. A commitment of two hours a day gets you the volunteer rate. Some volunteer options include the registration desk, set up, tear down, way finding, and a shift at the Yoga/Meditation Room.
ETUG will have a booth at the Festival and the stewardship committee (SCETUG) is making plans for that. We will keep you posted. Although this is a short update this time, there’s still a lot going on behind the scenes and more will be revealed as we finalize some details.
