[Festival of Learning 2018] Update #1
Contributed by Terri Bateman, FoL Co-chair.
The call for proposals for the Festival of Learning was extended for an extra week. We heard from a lot of people who just needed a little more time. The response was fantastic and we have a long list of potential presenters to sort through. Happily, there are some familiar ETUG member names in the submissions.
The Festival of Learning IS your ETUG conference this spring, so be sure to follow along and check out the schedule in early February. We are confirming some exciting, inspirational keynote speakers right now. There really will be something for everyone and I expect a lot of crossover in our three broad streams of edtech, teaching and learning, and open education, as they all inform each other.
Inclusivity is at the forefront of this conference and we are expecting participants from all areas of education in the province, and a few from beyond BC. Expect enchanced networking opportunities. If you are part of a group, consortium, or some other configuration of people who just want to get together at the festival, we can find you a space to meet.
I’ll be sharing updates in The ETUG News as plans progress. There are a limited number of early-bird reduced rates (ending Feb. 14) and a discounted rate for students, as well as one- and two-day passes if you can’t do all three days. May seems like a long way off (especially looking outside right now), but it will be here before we know it. I’m looking forward to a strong ETUG presence. I hope you all get a well-deserved holiday break!
