You will learn about:
- alternatives to using the LMS as a means of engaging students
- inviting students to participate in the development and sourcing of open course materials
- tools in use by both the instructor and the students
Marianne will provide you with feedback from her students about this change in teaching and as well her own thoughts and challenges.

Presenter
Marianne Gianacopoulos, EdTech Advisor and Instructor, School of Management at Langara College, will showcase the adaptations and changes she has made to her teaching and learning with a view to creating meaningful, memorable, and motivational learning for students. Many of these adaptations are also a move towards open education and pedagogy. These changes have been influenced primarily through teaching international students, who are here as part of the Colleges and Institutes Canada Student Partnership Program. The idea was prompted by the desire to capture students’ interest in attending class, engaging with each other, and demonstrating their knowledge and understanding.
