Tell us a bit about where you work and what you do.
I work for Vancouver Island University (VIU) as a Learning Technologies Support Specialist. I support faculty and students in their use of our LMS, as well as other educational technology.
How long have you been involved in teaching and learning and educational technology?
3.5 years.
What is one thing you really love about the work you do?
I like to see faculty evolve their skills and become independent and confident in their use of tools to support student learning.
How long have you been a member of ETUG? (Since what year?)
2 years.
What do you like best about this community and its activities?
Selection of resources shared and networking with other people in my role.
Do you have a favourite ETUG memory?
So far, I’m loving the Spring 2015 workshop series. Love to meet others and share ideas.
What would you like ETUG to provide more of in terms of benefits/value to members? Any input or help you want to ask members to provide?
More opportunities to connect regionally outside of major conferences.
Do you have any special interests/hobbies?
Instructional design and knitting.
Are you looking to collaborate with others in any special areas of interest?
I want to collaborate with others around faculty and student support and quality assurance in eLearning.
