[T.E.L.L. March] The Hybrid Course: A new breed of animal?
Based on the great feedback we’ve been getting from ETUG members on activities for this year, and in keeping with the theme of OPEN begun at last year’s workshop in Nelson, SCETUG is organizing Lunch n’ Learn webinars taking place on the last Tuesday of the month. No registration is required.
So… when?
Our next webinar is scheduled for Tuesday March 27 12:00-1:00 pm PST. Join Gina Bennett, elearning specialist with the College of the Rockies for “The Hybrid course: A new breed of animal?”
What exactly is a “hybrid course”? Is it the same as a “blended course”? Why do institutions and teachers decide to use a hybrid delivery, and why do students take such courses? In this session we’ll explore the what, where, when, and why of hybrid courses. Using the experience of BC educators, we’ll also hope to find out who’s working with hybrid approaches and benefit from their experience of what’s working and what’s challenging about being a hybrid. This session will be of interest to educators who have no experience with hybrid approaches; for educators who know a bit but need some hints on how to get started; and for experienced hybrid educators who are willing to share their secrets.
How does it work?
Many of us frequently develop workshops at our institutions. A lot of time and energy goes into the development of the workshop and the materials, but we might only present this material once or twice to members of our institution. This is your chance to RE-USE and share your workshop presentation with a wider community, the ETUG community. If you have a presentation or a workshop already developed and are interested in facilitating a Lunch n’ Learn or sharing resources you’ve developed get in touch with Leva Lee (leva.lee@bccampus.ca).
Where do I attend one of these Lunch n’ Learns?
